Energy Conservation Grants

Conservation Grant Application Form
 
CONSERVATION GRANTS – $100 per grant*
Members may apply for a one-time per year grant for the implementation of permanently installed energy conservation measures. This will be on a 50% cost-share basis, up to $100. Grants might include but are not limited to the following: 


  • Clothes line
Clothes lines and drying racks are a great way to save energy, since the clothes dryer is one of the most energy-hungry appliances in your home. Read more.

  • Corn, pellet, or wood stove
Today you can choose from a new generation of wood-, corn- and pellet-burning appliances that are cleaner burning, more efficient, and powerful enough to heat many average-sized, modern homes. Read more.

  • Trees for shading (site plan required)
The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that simply shading a home’s south and west sides with trees can reduce heating and cooling energy consumption by 25%. Read more.

  • Insulation
Properly insulating your home helps reduce your heating and cooling costs and makes your home more comfortable. Attics are often one of the easiest places to insulate. Read more.  

  • Ceiling fan
Because they efficiently move air, Energy Star ceiling fans keep you comfortable year-round while saving you money on your cooling and heating costs.Insulated earth tube livestock water
How does it work?

The water supply line passes through an insulated earth tube. This tube allows movement of air warmed by geothermal heat around the water supply line to keep it from freezing. Ask for more information at the Cooperative.


  • Tractor heater timer
By using timers on your tractor engine block heaters, you can save up to 85% on energy costs. Read more.

  • Programmable thermostat
You can save as much as 10% a year on your heating and cooling bills by simply turning your thermostat back 10% to 15% for 8 hours. Read more.

  • Occupancy sensor
By detecting activity within a certain area, occupancy sensors reduce energy use by turning lights off soon after the last occupant has left the room. Read more.
 

*A maximum of $2000 will be awarded per year in this program category
